100 construction workers get housing allocation orders, ET RealEstate

MADURAI: State ministers distributed housing allocation orders and other welfare assistance to construction workers at an event held at Tamukkam in Madurai on Saturday.

Organized by the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, commercial taxes minister P Moorthy, IT minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan and labour welfare minister C V Ganesan took part in it.

A total of 100 registered construction workers received housing allocation orders under the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board at 1.75 crore. Additionally, 1,121 beneficiaries received welfare assistance, including marriage assistance, educational aid, and medical benefits, worth 82.17 lakh.

Officials said 80,000 workers registered under the board in the state from May 2021 to March 2025, and assistance worth 108 crore was provided to more than 1.24 lakh beneficiaries, ensuring social security for construction workers and other unorganised labourers.

Workers can register and renew membership through www(dot)tnuwwb(dot)tn(dot)gov(dot)in to access to benefits.
