INDORE: The proposed IT Park in Ujjain is expected to be developed in two phases to accommodate IT enterprises and budding startups. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the IT Park has been finalized, and according to the report, the projected expenditure for the inaugural phase of development is Rs 67 crore.

The park will be established by the Madhya Pradesh Development Corporation (MPIDC) on more than 2 hectare.

“We have procured the transfer of 2.16 hectare of land from the administration for constructing Ujjain’s pioneering IT Park, and the DRP has also been submitted. The development will transpire in two stages, with the initial phase anticipated to incur a cost of approximately Rs 67 crore,” said Rajesh Rathod, the executive director of MPIDC, Ujjain.

The proposed IT Park will encompass an incubation centre, a research facility, and designated spaces for IT companies and startups.

“This will be a plug-and-play establishment where technology companies and startups can acquire space. We are crafting an advanced facility replete with all amenities to entice companies and players to this park. This would be the first of its kind in Ujjain, and the state government’s emphasis is on prioritizing local youth in this endeavor,” said Rathod.

The plug-and-play facility will be allocated either on a rental or lease basis, as the department has not yet determined the revenue model for assigning spaces within the facility. The proposed IT Park will be operated in collaboration with the state technical education department, for which a memorandum of understanding will be executed between MPIDC and the department.
