Abhishek Bachchan buys six apartments in Mumbai’s Borivali suburb, ET RealEstate

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has bought six apartments in a premium residential project in Mumbai’s Borivali suburb totalling Rs 15.42 crores from a subsidiary of realty developer Oberoi Realty.

Bachchan has acquired these apartments spread over 4,894 sq ft on the 57th floor of luxury project Oberoi Sky City from the company’s subsidiary Incline Realty at Rs 31,498 per sq ft.

Interestingly, two of these apartments are spread over 252 sq ft each, while the remaining four have around 1,100 sq ft carpet area each. The smaller apartments are bought for Rs 79 lakh each and the actor has paid around Rs 3.5 crore for other four apartments.

All these deals were concluded on May 28 and registered on May 29, showed documents accessed through Zapkey(dot)com.

ET’s email query to Bachchan and Oberoi Realty remained unanswered until the time of going to press.

Real estate continues to stand out as a top choice for investments among high-net-worth individuals. Bollywood figures are actively acquiring properties, not just for personal use, but also as lucrative investment ventures.

Several Bollywood actors, producers and directors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai have invested in properties.

Most recently, Bollywood actor, producer and entrepreneur John Abraham purchased a bungalow built over nearly one-fifth of an acre land parcel on tony Linking Road in Mumbai’s Khar locality for over Rs 70.83 crore.

Many deals of high-end luxury properties acquired by Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee, Alia Bhatt, Disha Patani, and Janhvi Kapoor have also been reported in the last few years.
