AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation‘s (AMC‘s) solid waste management division imposed penalties totalling Rs 20 lakh on four companies on Tuesday for dumping construction debris on road in Gota area. The companies — Virasat Readymix, Krushnam Concrete, Triya Infra, and Krushnam Concrete — were fined Rs 5 lakh each.
The concrete mixer vehicles of these companies left debris on the newly built stretch connecting Nilgiri Circle to SP Ring Road in Gota. After footage of the road pollution caused by these vehicles appeared on social media platforms, authorities conducted an enquiry and penalised the companies.
The east zone property tax department sealed 245 properties belonging to property tax defaulters on Tuesday and issued auction notifications for 10 defaulting properties.
The western area authorities also sealed 10 establishments for public littering violations.
