AHMEDABAD: The property tax department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation took action to seal properties of property tax defaulters in various areas of the city.
On Saturday, 1,205 commercial properties were sealed in the West Zone of the city, while notices were issued to 2,746 residential properties. In just one day, property tax revenue of Rs 2.48 crore was collected in the West Zone.
If the outstanding tax amount is not paid by March 31, water and sewer connections to residential properties will be cut off.
Additionally, 296 commercial properties were sealed in the South West Zone of the city, with property tax revenue of Rs 1.91 crore collected in one day.
On Saturday, teams from the solid waste management department issued notices to 60 units for littering in public areas across different parts of the city, and sealed two units.
