AHMEDABAD: AMC‘s property tax department on Friday conducted a massive drive, leading to 20,185 properties with tax defaults being sealed in a day.
The drive also resulted in a single-day tax collection of Rs 7.18 crore. The maximum number of properties sealed were in the East Zone, and the tax collected here was Rs 1.70 crore.
In the North Zone, 3,160 properties were sealed, bringing in Rs 1.10 crore while the South Zone saw 2,822 properties sealed, and Rs 1.15 crore collected.
In the West Zone 5,190 properties were sealed and collection touched Rs 2.61 crore. In the Southwest zone, 325 properties were sealed and Rs 62 lakh recovered.
The drive is expected to continue over the coming days, officials said.
