VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday warned his cabinet colleagues not to interfere or involve in sand mining in any manner.
After the cabinet meeting was over, Naidu spoke to the ministers on a few issues. He said that the free sand policy should be implemented in a transparent manner and there should not be any political interference either by the ministers or by the MLAs.
“Despite supplying sand free of cost, because some MLAs were involved in the transportation of sand, the govt faced criticism from people during the previous term between 2014 and 2019,” he said and added that there should not be any complaints against anyone in the party this time.
Naidu warned ministers that he will not hesitate to sack them from the cabinet if they are involved in sand mining. He also told them to convey the message to all MLAs .
Naidu also told the ministers to confine to their respective portfolios and not to meddle with other’s portfolios. Without taking any names, he referred to the confusion created on free bus travel for women after a minister announced on social media that the scheme will be launched on August 15.
As the announcement came from revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad while the scheme is to be implemented by the transport ministry, Naidu told the ministers to concentrate on their own portfolios.
Referring to the disappointment being expressed by some of the senior leaders who did not get a chance in the cabinet, Naidu asked the ministers to take all the leaders along and not to create differences among the cadres.
