BENGALURU: BDA reclaimed property worth Rs 120 crore at Malagala village, Nagarabhavi Layout, during an operation Thursday morning, which was part of its crackdown on illegal land encroachments that have plagued several parts of the city for years.

The recovered property, spread over 2 acres and 16 guntas, was under illegal occupation for more than two decades.

The land, owned by BDA, was encroached by a person claiming it was his ancestral property.

Twenty AC sheet sheds, RCC buildings and other unauthorised structures had come up on the land.

Last week, BDA conducted a demolition drive in Machohalli area of Nagarabhavi Layout and razed 50 granite factories, 200 sheds and several other illegal structures along a 1-km stretch of main arterial road.
