ARA: Bhojpur district magistrate (DM) Tanai Sultania has taken stern action against several surveyors of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and other officials for showing negligence and sluggishness in implementing the central scheme in their respective panchayats.
Among them, Sultania has cancelled the contract and terminated the services of Deepak Kumar, the surveyor of the PMAY at Shahpur block’s Bahoranpur panchayat, and its rural awas sahayak, besides Kumari Shashikala, surveyor of Bakri panchayat in Udwantnagar block, and its panchayat rozgar sevak, said a press release from the Bhojpur DM’s office on Tuesday.
Besides them, the Bhojpur DM has ordered 25% curtailment in the basic pay of Shailendra Kumar, the surveyor of Shahpur block’s Parsaunda panchayat, and its rural awas sahayak for the next three years.
The Bhojpur DM has also withheld the annual increments of Manjit Kumar, the surveyor of Piro block’s Akruan panchayat, as well as its rural awas sahayak for the next three years.
Apart from taking stern actions against some officials, the Bhojpur DM has given written warning to the surveyor of Baruhi panchayat in Sahar block, Arjun Baitha, and a rural awas sahayak, besides Ranjit Kumar, surveyor of Ichri panchayat in Garhani block, and a panchayat rozgar sevak.
“All block development officers of Bhojpur district have been asked to ensure 100% survey of those who can be the eligible beneficiaries of the PMAY. No laxity or negligence on the part of any official will be tolerated and stern action will be taken against the lax officials.” the press statement stated.
