BMC seizes properties of two builders over Rs 21 crore tax default, ET RealEstate

MUMBAI: The BMC has seized and attached properties of two developers, Sumer Build Corporation Private Limited and RR Developers, who owe the civic body a total of Rs 18 crore and Rs 3.62 crore, respectively, in property tax dues.

According to a BMC release, the civic body has started a crackdown on those defaulting on property tax payments by seizing and auctioning their properties.

The property tax assessment and collection department of the civic body has started seizure and attachment proceedings on two properties of the private developers.

The seizure and attachment action was carried out due to non-payment of tax within the prescribed 21 days by the defaulting establishments. Sumer Build Corporation has a plot in Mazgaon, while RR Developers owns a plot at Gavanpada village in Mulund.
