BENGALURU: With owners of only about 1.6 lakh of 22 lakh properties in the city having availed e-khatas and another 1.4 lakh applications pending, BBMP is now looking at setting up 1,000 kiosks across the city and hoping to engage locals, who have already procured the crucial document, to volunteer and help neighbours.
People who have availed e-khata and are familiar in using computers and required documentation work can volunteer. BBMP will be setting up kiosks and providing tech to make it happen, said Munish Moudgil, special commissioner (revenue). “Volunteers will be provided with a BBMP login ID that will help in uploading the documents. They will have to use BBMP servers only, and there’ll be a nominal fee for this.”
While an e-khata kiosk is slated to start in HRBR Layout next week, Moudgil said 1,000 kiosks will be operationalised very soon.
