Andhra Pradesh govt implements town planning reforms to facilitate stakeholders, ET RealEstate

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal administration minister Dr P Narayana has said that govt is implementing town planning reforms in the state to facilitate all the stakeholders. He, however, said that it was not possible to grant all the relaxations sought by the builders as it would lead to complete lawlessness.

Narayana took stock of the recent reforms initiated in the town planning with the realtors, officials and representatives of the licensed technical persons (LTPs) here on Friday.

“We have already brought several reforms and granted relaxations in the rules. It is not right on the part of builders to seek more relaxations, particularly with regard to the setback spaces,” said Narayana.

The minister asserted that certain rules have been designed for the safety of the structure and also to create good ambience. He also said that removal of entire setback rules will lead to complications.

“Any construction should be done in such a way that it should be pleasant in all ways,” the minister said, adding, that circular pattern will continue in old cities.

Responding to the licensed surveyors’ request to reduce the fee, Narayana said that govt has fixed the fee for permission as a license surveyor just at 1. He added that the decision to grant license for surveyors at just 1 was taken to create more employment, and that the youth particularly from rural areas could undergo training and become licensed surveyors.
