NASHIK: Residents of Chandshi village, who attended the meeting called by the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) on Tuesday, stressed on the need for small-sized plots that will help them sell the plots at an appropriate time.
Central govt is providing funds for the town planning scheme in areas adjoining the cities. As a part of the same, the NMRDA will be developing the Chandshi village. In this development, farmers will get developed plots with proper amenities that they can sell to customers at appropriate rates.
“We have prepared the town planning scheme in which we will provide basic roads, streetlights, drainage, and water supply pipelines. Farmers will be given 60% of the developed plot. The scheme, designed to cover approximately 100 acres, was explained to the farmers at the meeting. We have asked them to post their claims and objections,” said NMRDA commissioner Manikrao Gursal.
Speaking to the TOI, Gursal said, “After the discussions, the farmers demanded smaller sizes of the plots being given to them instead of the current sizes. We told them that this would further cut down the area they get, because of the space required for roads. Their suggestion, however, would be presented to the director of town planning, Pune, for final approval.”
In the current plan prepared by the NMRDA, which was exhibited to the stakeholders, the NMRDA will be constructing roads, streetlights, water supply pipelines, drainage lines, sewage treatment plant, retention walls along the nallahs and developing open spaces, and plots for housing schemes for the economically weaker sections and the lower-income group people.
The major roads will be 18 metres in width, while the others will be 15 metres and 12 metres in width, which will be wide enough and suitable for the TP scheme.
