Gurgaon: GMDA has constituted three teams to inspect sites where change of land use (CLU) permissions were either rejected, returned, or had their letters of intent (LOI) cancelled. These teams will verify whether construction has taken place despite the denial of approval and the violators will face enforcement action.

According to GMDA, around 130 sites spread across 42 villages have been identified for inspection.

“We have set up three teams to check whether construction took place on sites where CLU permissions were not granted. If any such violations are found, our enforcement wing will take action,” said RS Batth, district town planner, GMDA.

CLU permission is a prerequisite for changing the status of land designated for agricultural or other purposes and allowing it to be used for commercial, industrial, or institutional purposes.

It ensures that developments are legally compliant and adhere to zoning regulations. However, over the years, numerous cases have emerged where landowners or developers proceeded with construction despite their applications being rejected or returned due to non-compliance with regulations.
