AHMEDABAD: In a significant policy shift, the Gujarat government has discontinued allotting land to power companies at a 50% discount.
The state government now requires power companies to pay the full market value instead.
The AMC standing committee at a meeting in August, had approved this amendment, which overrules its September 2022 resolution that had granted GETCO, a 4,900sq m plot in Gota for a substation at a discounted rate.
Since the state government’s circular nullified the 50% concession policy for land allotment, including to GETCO, the company is now required to pay the full market value of Rs 66.10 crore for the plot.
