PANCHKULA: Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has completed a drone survey of 619 slums as a precursor to their rehabilitation, Huda chief administrator T L Satyaprakash told Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta during a review meeting here on Tuesday.

Gupta said work would have to be done in a time-bound manner to solve the problems of people living in Indira Colony, Rajiv Colony, Kharak Mangoli and other colonies.

Satyaprakash assured the rehabilitation work would be completed soon and slums that have secured relief from the Supreme Court would be included first in the scheme.

Gupta also took stock progress of the multi-feature park to be built on 18 acres in Sector 24. It is proposed to be ready by June next year. He said the park would give international recognition to Panchkula.

“It will have a one-of-a-kind maze with a special tower, a meditation garden based on Japanese art and many other facilities,” he said.
