Residents petition CM over Jaipur development body’s patta issuance for Pratap Nagar colony, ET RealEstate

JAIPUR: About 80 residents from a Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) colony in Pratap Nagar have submitted a petition to chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma seeking intervention regarding patta issuance from the civic body.

They asserted that although the JDA regulated the colony, Krishna Vihar, in 2007, the respective zonal office of the civic body remains unwilling to issue leases to these 80-odd residents, citing that a portion of the colony was reconfigured in the Zonal Plan in 2018 for use of govt activities.

Mahesh Tiwari, one of the affected residents claimed, the colony was regulated by JDA in 2007 and in 2023 JDA leases were granted to approximately 80 residents. Among the remaining 155-odd residents, about 70 residents are disinterested in patta as they are conducting unauthorised commercial activities on residential plots. Unfortunately, JDA declined to issue leases to the remaining 80-odd plot owners.

“The JDA tribunal on Feb 13, 2024 declared that there are no restrictions whatsoever on issuing JDA lease of residential plots, barring a singular piece of land. However, the deputy commissioner of the respective zone is declining to issue leases for all remaining plots,” said Mahesh Tiwari, a retired forest department official. tnn
