VADODRA: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has decided to offer rebates for the payment of property tax by May 23. An extra rebate will be offered to those who pay taxes online for 2025-26.
VMC started offering rebates to property owners in the city a few years ago. The civic body encourages citizens to pay their taxes without waiting for the bills. Citizens can check their tax on the website of the civic body.
The civic body has offered a rebate of 10% for residential properties. For non-residential properties, the rebate will be 5%. VMC will also give an additional rebate of 1% if the tax is paid online. This has been done to encourage online payments that credit the money directly to VMC’s accounts.
Citizens who do not wish to pay taxes online can go to the ward offices of the civic body with the census number of their property or an old property tax bill. The civic body has not done away with offline collection of taxes, but the additional rebate of 1% will not be given for such payments.
