UDHAGAMANDALAM: In the wake of TNRERA issuing a public caution notice on registration of plots and new buildings, the Confederation of Environment Associations of Nilgiris (CEAN) has written to the Nilgiris collector seeking a survey of real estate layouts and projects (ongoing and completed) in the Nilgiris.
“Most of the real estate projects in the district violate section 3 of the TNRERA Act,”, Surjit K Chaudhary, chairperson and coordinator of CEAN, alleged.
He said, “Since the rules have been made clear publicly by TNRERA through a caution notice dated January 11, 2025, a clear and wholesome action needs to be taken to protect the Nilgiris from the land sharks.”
A list of real estate projects must be prepared for public transparency, he said.
