BENGALURU: BBMP is all set to deliver draft khatas to nearly every property owner in the city, aiming to simplify the process of obtaining an e-khata certificate without requiring visits to offices of the civic agency. The initiative, expected to launch soon, will improve accessibility but does not ensure smooth issuance of the final e-khata, which remains a challenge for many property owners.

The home-delivery initiative targets 23 lakh residents who have not yet downloaded property records due to lack of awareness or technical difficulties. However, property owners who have already accessed their draft e-khata online will not be impacted, BBMP said.

Upon receiving draft khata, property owners can apply for final e-khata online or at BangaloreOne centres by submitting additional property details. BBMP plans to allow private service providers to assist in the process. The primary hurdle remains dependency on assistant revenue officers (AROs) for approval before the final khata can be downloaded from BBMP website.

To assist citizens, the civic agency has launched a helpline — 9480683695.
