HYDERABAD: The Congress govt sanctioned 4,696 Indiramma houses for the families displaced due to the Mid Manair Reservoir project on Saturday. Financial assistance of 5 lakh will be given to each beneficiary under the Indiramma Indlu scheme.

The Rajanna Siricilla district administration informed the state govt that 10,683 families displaced by the Mid Manair project were provided house sites in 12 villages, including hamlets, under the relief and rehabilitation (R&R) package. Of these, 5,987 beneficiaries constructed houses, and the remaining 4,696 families appealed for the sanction of houses under the Indiramma Indlu scheme.

The Rajanna Siricilla district collector forwarded the same to Telangana Housing Corporation Limited, which in turn sent the proposal to the govt for its approval. Considering the proposal, the govt issued GO Ms 42, sanctioning houses to the families.

Additionally, the state govt on Saturday issued orders sanctioning 863 Indiramma housing units to the families who lost their lands due to Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. These housing units were sanctioned from the state reserve quota, duly relaxing the eligibility criteria of the Indiramma Indlu scheme.
