MUMBAI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Indian cricket’s young sensation, has purchased an apartment in X BKC for nearly Rs 5.4 crore. According to the registration document accessed by Liases Foras, the 1,100-sq-ft flat in wing 3 of the Bandra (East) building was registered on Jan 7. The deal works to Rs 48,499 a sq ft.
Jaiswal (22) comes from humble beginnings. As a kid growing up in Mumbai, he lived in a tent at Azad Maidan -after his parents left for his village Badohi in UP-to pursue his cricketing dream before he was picked up by his childhood coach. At one point, he helped a hawker sell pani puri at Azad Maidan.
Last Sunday, the left-handed opener hit a double century, his second, which included a record 12 sixes, to star in India’s 434-run rout of England in third Test at Rajkot. Jaiswal dominated U-19 World Cup in 2020. He translated the success into an IPL bid of Rs 2.4 crore and thrived with 625 runs in 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals in 2023.
