VISAKHAPATNAM: The works to set up Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facility in Madhurawada IT SEZ is progressing swiftly, following a proposal from M/s Dallas Technology Centre (DTC) to lease its premise to TCS along with other arrangements. The state industries and commerce department released a govt order on Saturday regarding this proposal.
DTC has submitted requests for an occupancy certificate, permission to sub-lease the premises to TCS, and allocation of an additional 1,600 sqm at the original rate of Rs 6,720 per sqm.
The govt previously allocated Plot No A, measuring 7,774.90 sqm on Hill No 2 in Rushikonda to DTC. The sale agreement was executed on August 12, 2016, with plot possession transferred on Sept 8 of the same year. The company received four extensions until Aug 9, 2026.
In their letter dated Sept 21 this year, the Dallas Technology Centre stated plans to facilitate TCS operations, aiming to employ 2,000 IT professionals in Phase I. The current ground plus 3 floors plan accommodates only 1,400 employees, necessitating additional space. They requested 1,600 sqm from the available 1,909 sqm.
The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) reviewed the proposal on Nov 19, following recommendations from the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC) meeting on Nov 16. After thorough deliberation, SIPB recommended a special package for Dallas Technology Centre, which received govt approval.
The govt has directed special chief secretary, principal secretary, and secretary of relevant departments including E&F and S&T, power, roads and buildings, infrastructure and investment, industry and commerce (CIP), finance department, and associated departments to expedite project implementation through their HODs and PSUs.
