NEW DELHI: Continuing its action against properties over non-payment of property tax, New Delhi Municipal Council claimed to have attached seven properties on Kasturba Gandhi Marg on Monday.

The council has prepared a list of 41 defaulting properties on KG Marg, including flats, offices and commercial establishments, which have not cleared their property tax dues.

“After they didn’t respond to the notices, NDMC served them attachment notices,” said an official. When civic officials visited some of these properties on Monday, a few asked for a day’s time to furnish replies while the action was taken against seven properties.

A popular restaurant claimed to have made all payments since 2018 and assured to produce documents related to prior arrears, the official said. “Our teams will revisit the stretch to target the remaining properties if no satisfying reply comes from them,” it added.

As part of its continuing action, NDMC on Friday attached a portion of a commercial complex near Gole Market. It also attached seven properties in Khan Market.

“At Khan Market, five days’ notices have been issued to the defaulting shops and residential complexes,” officials said.
