GURUGRAM: A real estate developer was booked for allegedly discharging wastewater into MCG’s sewer system on the road leading to Daulatabad from Dhanwapur village.

This led to overflowing of drains in various areas including Dhanwapur, Surat Nagar phase 1 and 2, Rajendra Park, Vishnu Garden, and Ratna Garden. To seek redressal of the issue, residents approached newly elected Gurgaon MLA Mukesh Sharma and sought his intervention.

“MCG officials were asked to inspect, find out the cause of the sewage overflow, and take appropriate action against those responsible,” said the MLA. Sharma, in an earlier interaction with govt officials, had asked them to resolve the issues of garbage collection and sewage management on priority. Upon inspection of the residents’ complaints, it was found that an Indiabulls company had discharged wastewater in the sewer system from one of their real estate projects.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of the sub-divisional officer (SDO) of MCG, Dilip Singh. Singh mentioned in his complaint that on Oct 22, junior engineer Satyendra Kumar informed him that Indiabulls company was illegally discharging rainwater into the corporation’s sewer system using two motors via pipes.
