GURUGRAM: Residents in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 have been complaining about unauthorised construction of houses, in violation of DTCP norms, in the area.
The residents’ welfare association (RWA) of the sectors wrote to DTCP last week, seeking action against illegal construction. Residents said most of the newly constructeded buildings in the colony have been built in violation of the plans sanctioned by DTCP.
Pawan Kumar Yadav, RWA president of the sector, said, “We have identified more than 70 plots in the colony that violate the sanctioned plan. If such violations remain unchecked, what will be the difference between unauthorised and authorised colonies? We have urged the department to take cognizance of these violations and take strict action against the violators.”
It was alleged by the RWA that several builders have encroached on both the front and rear sides of plots, blocking light and ventilation. Moreover, residents also alleged that many owners have constructed bathrooms in the behind other buildings and encroached on areas reserved for stilt parking. The RWA also suggested that the department conduct regular inspections in the colony.
Manish Yadav, district town planner (enforcement), said on Sunday, “A survey will be conducted soon, and strict action will be taken if any violation is committed after obtaining occupancy certificates.”
Instances of unauthorised construction and violation of sanctioned plans have been reported across other colonies in the city in the past.
