LUCKNOW: The department of Post on Monday launched e-stamping services for registration of property and other commercial purposes, to be available at post offices, one each in 11 cities across the state.
Launched as a pilot project following an agreement between the department of Post and Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, the facility is expected to curb black marketing and overcharging of stamps.
In Lucknow, the facility was launched at GPO in presence of chief postmaster general B Selvakumar and head of registration department, UP, Leena Johri.
Postmaster general, Lucknow circle Vivek Kumar Daksh said the facility will curb black marketing and overcharging. UP minister of state for stamp and court registration fees Ravindra Jaiswal launched the facility in Varanasi court sub post office.
