Ed Sheeran’s Brooklyn Condo Is Renting for $38,000 a Month

It seems as if one of Britain’s biggest pop stars, Ed Sheeran, has quietly exited his Brooklyn condo. We don’t know if he picked up a spot elsewhere in the Big Apple or if he has simply returned to his main digs in the United Kingdom.

In May of 2023, the “Shape of You” vocalist rented a $36,000 per month triplex at Pierhouse, an uber luxury condominium building that sits at the edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Now, according to The Real Deal, after Sheeran brought a few months of star power to the waterfront condo, the same unit is back on the market at $38,000 a month.

At the time of his renting it, the four-bedroom aerie was Brooklyn’s second highest rental ever on record, and turned out to be the borough’s most expensive rental of 2023. (A penthouse in the same Brooklyn Heights neighborhood leased for $40,000 a month in May of 2002.)

Sheeran’s former 3,200-square-foot condo is being offered fully furnished. The unit’s west side is wrapped in large picture windows that flood the space with natural light and provide exposure to striking views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and lower Manhattan’s skyline. Multiple private outdoor spaces abound, with the largest being a 1,500-square-foot terrace on the top floor, complete with a lounging area and outdoor kitchen amenities. The unit boasts “only the most exceptional materials” according to the listing, and includes custom walnut cabinetry, Calacatta Tucci marble slab counters and islands in the kitchen, and reclaimed heartwood pine floors.

“People want a turnkey product, and they’re willing to pay a premium,” listing agent Sarah Williams of Societe Real Estate told TRD. That certainly holds true for the Pierhouse, which counts celebs like Matt Damon, Amy Schumer, and most recently, Kendrick Lamar—who paid $8.6 million for a penthouse in the building last fall—as residents. The two-building development is also attached to super trendy 1 Hotel, Brooklyn Bridge, and residents get access to the hotel’s full suite of offerings including a luxury spa, cocktail lounge, two eateries, and a rooftop pool.

In early 2023, Sheeran spent significant time in New York City due to a copyright lawsuit which claimed the singer lifted chords from Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” for his Grammy-winning song “Thinking Out Loud”. Sheeran eventually won the lawsuit and is currently on tour in Asia.
