PATNA: The Patna high court on Monday asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to file its action-taken report in a case against a builder, which is accused of not handing over apartments despite taking hefty amounts from at least 42 persons.

A single bench of Justice Sandeep Kumar, while hearing a writ petition filed by Priti Swaraj and 41 other prospective flat buyers against M/s Anuanand constructions and its directors, also asked the state govt why criminal cases lodged against the erring builders were not transferred to its Economic Offences Unit in light of its earlier directions issued in a similar matter two years ago.

The petitioners’ counsel, Punit Kumar, alleged that the accused construction company has duped the 42 persons of about Rs 100 crore by not handing them over their apartments in Sai enclave, despite taking hefty amounts in advance.

The petitioners also complained against the “lethargic action” of Patna police, causing delay in transferring the cases to the EOU.

This matter will be heard again on April 29.
