GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has invited private firms to give presentations as part of the process for selecting an agency to make the detailed project report (DPR) of the Harnandipuram township. Three companies have made presentations, and these will be followed by the opening of financial bids, officials said.
An official told TOI that the DPR will include provisions such as road connectivity, drainage systems, and water networks, as well as ways to ensure the proposed township is equipped to tackle pollution.
“A committee has been formed to assess the presentations made by the companies, after which financial bids for creating the DPR will be invited. As per the understanding, companies will be paid on a per-hectare basis,” the official added.
Surveys have been conducted for the project, which included a drone survey of the area, to determine the feasibility of the features planned for the new township.
“Water and energy conservation measures through the use of new technologies, including AI, will be a key feature of this township so that the township is environmentally sustainable, and the same was conveyed to the firms vying for creating the DPR,” the official said.
An AI-based water conservation system will come up to curb water wastage. Solar energy will be tapped for the township’s power needs, for which rooftop solar plants will be set up. These features, among others, will be entailed in the DPR.
The proposed Harnandipuram township will now be developed across an area of 521 hectares under the CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme, for which land will be acquired from villages. The state govt is expected to release Rs 400 crore in funds for the same.
As per an estimate, funds worth Rs 10,000 crore will be needed to develop Harnandipuram. Out of this, 50% of the cost will be borne by the state govt under the scheme, while the remaining amount will be covered by the GDA.
Land will be acquired from eight villages, with the largest portion coming from Nangla Ferozepur village at 247.84 hectares, followed by Shamsher village (123.97 hectares), Bhanera Khurd (11.83 hectares), Mathurapur village (8.72 hectares) Champat Nagar (39.2 hectares) Shahpur Morta (54.20 hectares) Bhowapur (2.58 hectares) and Morti (2.58 hectares)
