LUDHIANA: Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authorities (Glada) is all set to take stringent action against realtors developing illegal colonies. A total of 12 cases have been registered under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995 against such defaulters. Glada officials had been issuing warnings about this earlier.
Glada had recommended that tehsildars not register plots in unauthorised colonies, PSPCL refrain from issuing electricity connections and FIRs be filed against developers of such colonies in Ludhiana district. A few of the developers had not taken permission while others had not paid pending dues to Glada. Officials claimed that they had been registering FIRs against such developers from time to time.
Two FIRs have been registered against the owner of Sharav Infrastructure Private Limited for building an illegal colony in Khanpur village, where plots were sold out. Another FIR has been registered against a developer in Jassar village. Two FIRs were registered against two unknown developers for developing two illegal colonies in Mehmudpura and Sangowal respectively.
One such FIR has been registered against a developer in Dugri phase 2 and two FIRs have been filed against two unknown persons for developing two illegal colonies at Jaspal Bangar and Sahnewal. Three cases were registered against various developers of illegal colonies in Bhamian Kalan. Another FIR was registered against a developer for constructing the illegal Guru Nanak Nagar without obtaining license from Glada. An FIR was registered against a developer for constructing an illegal colony in Gaunsgarh village. The FIRs have been registered in different police stations.
Meanwhile, chief administrator, Glada, Sandeep Rishi urged people not to purchase property/plots/buildings in unauthorised colonies.
