PANAJI: The economic offence cell of Goa police on Friday issued a look out circular (LOC) against seven individuals in connection with their alleged involvement in the Rs 100 crore ‘share market’ scam.

Crime branch SP Rahul Gupta said, “The EOC police station issued the LOC against Deepali Balkrishna Parab, Sunita Rodrigues, Nolan Lawrence Antao, Joaquim Rosario Pires, Vijay Dattatray Joil, Navnik Mario Armando Pereira, and Sushant Manohar Ghodge to prevent them from fleeing the country and to ensure that they are available for investigation.”

Gupta stated that an LOC and a blue corner notice were already issued against the main accused, Myron Rodrigues, who is currently absconding.

The EOC has booked five directors of a real estate company in connection with a case in the ‘stock market’ scam. Rodrigues and his wife Deepali Parab allegedly cheated people, mostly from Salcete, of over Rs 100 crore by promising lucrative returns on investments in the share market. The EOC registered the first FIR in the case on Aug 30, 2023.

Gupta said that the directors of Idylic Goan Gateways and Developments Pvt Ltd who were booked are Antao (32) and Pires from Fatorda; Joil (54), from Maharashtra; Pereira (55) from Benaulim; and Ghodge (53) from Pernem.

The SP said, “Rodrigues and Parab are proprietors of DMA Designing New Worlds LLP, which was incorporated with the registrar of companies, Goa. The company is engaged in the real estate business.”

Gupta said that Rodrigues transferred investors’ money amounting to over Rs 3.2 crore between Nov 2022 and June 2023 from his bank account to Idylic Goan Gateways and Developments Pvt Ltd and Rs 2 crore to Prospect Realty for business purposes.

“On Nov 21, all these directors’ names were included in the FIR after scrutiny of the financial transactions,” Gupta said.
