AHMEDABAD: Saw a real estate advertisement and want to find out more about it? The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA) has made it easy for potential buyers to get their hands on such information. It recently issued a circular mandating the inclusion of Quick Response (QR) code in all advertisements, brochures and prospectuses published or distributed by real estate developers about a project.
The decision, which came into effect on Oct 1, aims to provide quick access to information about the developer and the project.
In addition to the existing requirement of displaying the eight-digit RERA number and GujRERA website in advertisements, developers must now include the project’s QR code in the advertisements and information materials.
“The QR code, provided in the RERA registration certificate, will allow stakeholders—homebuyers, investors, and other interested parties—to scan it with their smartphones and instantly retrieve detailed information about the project,” a GujRERA official said.
However, for legal documents such as Agreements for Sale (AFS), sale deeds, and other binding agreements, the complete RERA registration number must be used instead of the 8-digit code. This measure aims to prevent confusion or misrepresentation in critical legal transactions.
In a separate development, GujRERA has postponed the changes to the submission norms for the quarterly progress report (QPR) of real estate projects.
The authority had previously announced its intention to introduce daily penalties for delays in QPR submission. However, these changes have been put on hold for the time being.
