BENGALURU: Appointment of chairperson and members of Real Estate Regulatory Appellate Tribunal is imperative and cannot be stalled on the ground that Lok Sabha elections have been declared, the high court observed.

Pointing out that proceedings are going on since January 22, Justice M Nagaprasanna directed the state govt to do the needful before April 15. “It is needless to observe that the order has been passed in the peculiar facts of this case, as constitution of tribunal and appointment of members to Rera are imperative,” the judge said in his order.

Bengaluru resident Mathew John had filed a petition seeking directions to consider his representation for appointment to the tribunal as posts of members fell vacant on June 2, 2023.
