BHOPAL | JABALPUR: Bhopal collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh was summoned by two judges of MP high court at its principal bench Jabalpur on March 12 in two distinct cases of contempt of court.

While Justice Vivek Agarwal issued a bailable warrant against the Bhopal collector, the court of Justice A K Singh mandated the personal attendance of the Bhopal collector. Both cases pertain to non-compliance of court directives on execution of RRC issued by Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).

While Kaushlendra Vikram Singh appeared in Justice Agarwal’s court via video conferencing, he applied in Justice A K Singh’s court requesting exemption from personal appearance, citing crucial official commitments in Delhi. The petitioner’s counsel objected to the application, asserting it was lodged to circumvent court appearance. He emphasised that following Justice Agarwal’s bailable warrant, the collector opted for virtual appearance whileseeking exemption from this court.

The court, while adjourning the hearing to March 19, stipulated that should the court order remain unfulfilled by then, the Bhopal collector must appear personally during proceedings.
