HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)’s standing committee has approved 8,440 crore budget for the 2025-26 fiscal. The estimated revenue receipts and revenue expenditure have been proposed at 4,445 crore and 4,000 crore respectively, with 445 crore surplus.
The revenue receipts estimated in the 2024-25 budget were 5,938 crore, which included 1,200 crore of govt grants (compensation to GHMC for debt servicing).
However, the govt considered and allocated funds of 2,654 crore to GHMC under assistance for H-CITI (capital grants).
Accordingly, revenue receipts were revised from 5,938 crore to 4,052 crore in the revised budget estimates for 2024-25. The major share of revenue expenditure was towards establishment expenditure.
