HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection and Monitoring Agency (Hydraa) resumed demolition of illegal encroachments near Ameenpur Pedda Cheruvu on Tuesday, after receiving complaints from the people during ‘Prajavani’ at Buddha Bhavan.
“The complainants alleged that a politician had encroached upon their plots and developed the layout near the lake. According to the owners of the land, the politician illegally sold off the plots, leaving them embroiled in a legal battle over the encroachment since 2006,” said an official from Hydraa.
This is not the first time Hydraa has stepped in. Three months ago, the authorities carried out demolition work in the same area. However, the politician reportedly re-erected fencing on the disputed land, compelling Hydraa to take action once again.
Officials confirmed that since the encroacher went against the earlier demolition and erected the fencing again, a FIR will be filed in the local police station on Wednesday regarding the ongoing dispute and the repeated violations. “Further action is expected as the case progresses,” the official said.
