VADODARA: The fire and emergency services department of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) sealed a prominent jewellery store and a commercial complex in Alkapuri area of the city on Wednesday.
The department has been taking up extensive sealing drives after issuing a series of notices to commercial complexes in the city. On Tuesday it sealed the two commercial properties as a part of the drive.
The jewellery store and the commercial complex had been issued notices a couple of months back to install fixed fire protection systems. However, they did not do so and another notice was issued on Friday last.
When work did not start even till Tuesday, fire officials sealed the two buildings. On Saturday too, the department had sealed four different buildings in different parts of the city.
