AHMEDABAD: The civic body recently auctioned 13 plots but managed to sell only four, yet with remarkable returns on each. The AMC‘s estate department held the auctions, including a 4,658 sq m plot in Bodakdev, listed at a base price of Rs 2.70 lakh per sq m and ultimately sold for Rs 3.07 lakh per sq m.
A company purchased this prime plot for Rs 143 crore against an initial base price of Rs 125.76 crore. In total, AMC garnered Rs 235.97 crore from the sale of the four plots, surpassing the base price of Rs 194.57 crore by over Rs 40 crore.
Another notable auction was for a 5,741 sq m plot in Nikol, where the base price was Rs 70,000 per sq m and sold at Rs 86,000 per sq m, with the company paying Rs 49.37 crore in total, up from the base price of Rs 40.18 crore. A plot in Motera, sized 963 sq m, had a base price of Rs 1 lakh per sq m, and fetched Rs 1.57 lakh per sq m, yielding Rs 15.11 crore versus a base of Rs 9.60 crore.
In Makarba, a 3,799 sq m plot was auctioned with a base price of Rs 50,000 per sq m and sold at Rs 75,000 per sq m, resulting in Rs 28.49 crore against a base of Rs 19 crore.
Approval for the proposal to sell these four plots will be granted at the standing committee meeting on Thursday, after which the estate department will proceed with the sale deed process.
