BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has directed officials to seal commercial properties with significant outstanding property taxes to enforce recovery.

Speaking at a meeting today at the Malleshwaram IPP conference hall, he emphasised the need for each division to take appropriate steps to collect dues from defaulters and resolve pending cases.

Assistant revenue officers in each zone have been instructed to hold area-specific meetings to identify cases with substantial unpaid property taxes and ensure strict measures are taken for prompt collection.

He said, “Under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme, BBMP is offering a waiver on interest and penalties for outstanding property taxes until November 30, 2024. All property owners with outstanding dues are advised to pay their taxes by November 30 via the BBMP tax portal, BBMPtax.karnataka.gov.in. From December 1, unpaid dues will incur double the penalty, as a reminder to citizens to settle their taxes promptly.”

To facilitate easier access to e-khata, Bengaluru One centres now offer this service. Citizens can obtain their e-Khata by presenting the necessary documents and paying a fee of Rs 45.

BBMP has uploaded instructional videos in Kannada and English on their YouTube channel detailing how to apply for e-Khata and upload documents. Citizens are encouraged to subscribe to the channel for further updates.
