GURUGRAM: In a meeting with HRera chief, homebuyers of five affordable housing projects of Mahira Homes have demanded securing of the project sites and construction material lying at the sites after revocation of the registration of projects.

The homebuyers also sought details of financial status of the projects including amount collected and withdrawn by the developer.

Two weeks back, regulator had revoked all the five affordable housing projects of the developer as it failed to comply with the provisions of Rera Act and complete the projects.

Around 5000 homebuyers of five projects in Sector 68, in Sector 104, in Sector 103, in Sector 63A and in Sector 95 who had booked the flats in 2017 and 2018 are struggling to get their homes. The allottees alleged that developer has transported construction materials in trucks from Sector 68 project site to other place day after RERA revoked registrations of all five projects.

In the meeting held with RERA officials the allottee expressed apprehension that the builder may damage the projects. Hundreds of allottees of all the 5 projects of Mahira Homes reached HRera office and had a long conversation with the officials.

Sachin Kumar General secretary Mahira 68 buyers association said “Our first demand was to protect the material from theft from Sector 68 site, a notice should be put up on the site with immediate effect and security should be put in place so that this loss can be avoided. And our second major demand was that work on our stalled project should be started as soon as possible and we should be informed about the future road map being prepared for our project”.

“HRera officials have assured that action will be taken on the demands. We buyers, who have been troubled for the last 6 years, hope that now the department will wake up from its sleep and take some action for us” he added. Kumar further said the builder has appeal against revocation notice in the RERA Appellate Tribunal.

Tarang Agarwal, another buyer said “We are tired of visiting all the departments for the last 2 years but the department has not helped us. We have done 25 protests till date in Gurgaon, Samalkha, Jantar Mantar but the housing scheme launched by Prime Minister has failed. We demand help from all the departments and request them to build houses for us as soon as possible”.
