Drone Survey Done, 18 Lakh Rural Property Cards On Official Website, ET RealEstate

PUNE: The Maharashtra settlement commissioner’s office has completed a drone survey of residential land parcels in 12,084 villages and uploaded details on the revenue department’s website for citizens’ reference.

A senior official from the state settlement commissioner’s office on Wednesday said 18.66 lakh property cards of rural residential land parcels had been uploaded and the remaining 50 lakh would be done by 2025. The drone survey had commenced three years ago and covered nearly 37,000 villages.

The aim of the survey was to help fix boundaries in rural, private, government and semi-government properties and also locations of roads and canals. The official said around 19,000 villages were left to be covered, the official added.

“The mapping was earlier done in a manual process. However, the drone technology is now changing the way of survey,” a senior official from the settlement commissioner’s office said.

Property cards for the areas covered by the survey have been uploaded on the state government’s Bhumi Abhilekh website and citizens could download it by paying some charges. “Besides uploading the names and details of the properties, there is necessary information related to sale deeds,” the official said.
