KOCHI: Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) will soon begin demarcation of boundaries for land pooling of 300 acres for Phase III campus of Infopark.
As the land pooling workshop was held for officials on Saturday, the authority decided to form a special team of revenue officials to start the procedures of land acquisition in the coming days.
Govt recently issued an order appointing GCDA for pooling the land identified for setting up the new campus in Kizhakkambalam.
The demarcation process will begin only after holding discussions with landowners, as acquisition through land pooling is not familiar to people.
GCDA will give six-month time for landowners to finalize the procedures. Only then will the authority finish the procedures of demarcation of the entire area to be acquired.
Infopark CEO Susanth Kurunthil said that Phase III will consist of six key components: carbon neutrality, self-sufficiency in water resources, complete waste management, transportation connectivity linking Kochi city, national highways, railway systems and airport, IT park inclusive of all social groups and a maintenance system that does not disrupt buildings or IT companies. “In addition to IT companies, it will include residential facilities, commercial establishments, sports and cultural systems and hospitals,” said Kurunthil.
