THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state cabinet on Wednesday decided to grant Rs 4 lakh each to 355 beneficiaries by amending housing scheme guidelines members of the fishing community who have their own land in safe zone along the coasts.

The money will be granted to those beneficiaries who have their own land 200 metres outside the high-tide zone, but presently reside within 50 metres from the high-tide line.

Vehicle purchase

The cabinet has sanctioned the purchase of 12 cars for the use of judicial officers in the subordinate judicial service. These include the judges of the motor accidents claims tribunals in Punalur, Taliparamba, Kasaragod and Thrissur; the first additional district judges in Kasaragod, Manjeri, Kalpetta and Kollam and the family court judges in Alappuzha, Thodupuzha, Tirur and Irinjalakuda.

Land conversion

The cabinet has given subjective permission for the conversion of the type of 30 acres of land given to Kinfra in Ayyanthol, Thrissur for using under the category of public purposes.

The conditions laid out for permitting include setting aside 10% of the land for water conservation and ensuring environment-friendly construction. In addition, the constructions should not affect the agriculture and habitat in the nearby areas.
