HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad disaster response and asset protection and monitoring agency (HYDRAA) conducted two demolition drives in Shamshabad on Monday, following multiple complaints about land encroachments in residential colonies.

One key complaint involved a 998-square-yard public park in Southern Paradise (Sri Sampath Nagar), which was allegedly seized by private parties. In response, Hydraa carried out an inspection and confirmed the encroachment. As a result, the unauthorized fencing and sheds within the park were removed.

In a separate case, a complaint was filed regarding a 33-ft-wide road in Captain Town-2 Colony, Ootpally village, Shamshabad mandal. Upon investigation, Hydraa officials verified the claims and swiftly demolished the structure.

“These demolitions are part of an ongoing initiative by local authorities to combat unauthorised land occupation and ensure proper urban planning. Strict action will be taken against encroachments,” said Hydraa chief AV Ranganath.
