LUCKNOW: Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Monday demolished several illegal dwellings and constructions around the lake in Butler Palace Colony as part of the ongoing beautification project of the area.
Over 110 illegal constructions were constructed around the Butler palace and lake. LDA is beautifying Butler Lake at a cost of about Rs 5 crore. LDA officials had earlier issued notices to the occupants asking them to vacate the area.
The occupants were also allotted houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme in Vasant Kunj.
“The displaced have been given the benefit of PMAY in Vasant Kunj. Authority is committed to developing the city without creating problems for affected people,” said Gyanendra Verma, additional secretary, LDA.
