JAIPUR: Acting on a tip off from locals, the enforcement wing of the JDA sealed two under-construction multi-storied buildings in Gokul Nagar on Kalwar Road on Sunday. Officials said the builders constructed these two four-storied buildings with a basement, but without keeping the prescribed gangway on the ground floor and maintaining the mandatory separation gap with adjacent buildings.

“The builders were issued notices under Section 32 and 33 of the JDA Act 1982 and were ordered to remove the illegal construction. Since they did not comply with the order and remove the illegal constructions, we sealed both buildings and served notices under Section 34 (a) of the JDA Act, 1982,” a JDA official said.

The enforcement officials on Sunday visited both premises along with officials from the engineering wing of the civic body. They sealed the main gates of the buildings with plasters so that no individual can enter these buildings under construction.

“As per norms, now if the builders fail to comply with the mandatory norms and rectify the glitches in the construction works, the enforcement wing can demolish the buildings. JDA can send a demand notice to recover the cost incurred during demolition,” a JDA official added.

Kailash Chandra Bishnoi DIG Police (JDA), has appealed to all citizens to personally report enforcement-related complaints in the control room helpline Nos. 0141 2565800, 0141 2575252 and 0141 2575151.
