JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Wednesday demolished four new illegal colonies on about 23.5 bighas of private agricultural land in Zone-14. Officials said that these colonies were at an initial stage.

Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, chief controller of enforcement department, said that in Chandlai area, private agricultural land was levelled without the approval of JDA and without land conversion.

“We learnt that a new illegal colony was being set up by levelling grounds, boundary walls being constructed, and other illegal constructions being done overnight. Our team reached the spot and the colonies that were going to come up were demolished. The process of recovery of expenses of demolition proceedings will be ensured from the concerned,” said Yadav.
