LUCKNOW: The civic body’s door-to-door survey to update its ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) records related to houses and other properties situated within its jurisdiction began on Monday.

Approximately 5.6 lakh household properties and around 80,000 commercial properties are registered in the LMC records, but only 30% of these existing properties have their owners’ records, especially mobile numbers, updated in the corporation’s records. In the campaign that began on Monday, the LMC employees will conduct a door-to-door survey and update the records of property owners.

The LMC employeeswill update the mobile numbers and other missing records of the property owners. This will help the corporation to coordinate with customers and provide various details of schemes, taxes, and other information by the LMC. “The move will benefit property owners and enable the LMC to convey messages directly to customers and provide details of upcoming schemes,” said Inderjit Singh, LMC commissioner.

The Lucknow Development Authority demolished 78 houses in Akbarnagar slums for the Kukrail riverfront development project. The operation caused emotional distress to residents, who were provided homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. LDA vice-chairman, Indramani Tripathi, supervised the operation.
