LUCKNOW: Lucknow Development Authority will develop a new township spanning 6,000 acres in Bakshi Ka Talab. A survey for the project has begun.
The new township is expected to provide housing for at least three lakh people. LDA identified land in 14 villages, including Bhauli, Baurumau, Dhatingra, Goparamau, Lakshmipur and Purwa.
To facilitate land acquisition LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar has formed a committee under secretary Vivek Srivastava. Other members of the panel are chief town Planner Kaushwendra Gautam, land acquisition officer (Arjan) and executive engineer (Zone 5).
The BKT project is LDA’s first on Sitapur Road after nearly 40 years. The last major projects in the area were Jankipuram and Jankipuram Extension.
“LDA is developing multiple residential schemes. Along with previously planned projects, new housing schemes are also being introduced to address the housing needs in the city. People will soon have easy access to plots and houses,” said the vice-chairman.
